OK before I get started let me tell you a few things this site does and does not do

We do not ask you for any fees
We will not try to sell you anything
We do not tell you that you will become a millionaire in 20 minutes
We do not have a 10 step process to unlimited wealth
We will never ask you for any personal details
We only link to reputable survey companies. No lottos, Gambling, Shopping, Paid Mail etc
We do not send emails, at all ever
We have no imaginary  "exclusive" content

We do offer completely free impartial advice based on personal experiences
We do receive a fee from some providers for providing them with good quality survey candidates which is why we try to be completely honest about the whole process.
We do use indirect and direct advertising on this site in order to sustain its meagre existence (e.g clicking an add may result in me getting enough pennies to keep this site going, pretty please)

Ok now that over. look at the statements below and ask yourself "is this too good to be true"

I made over £3000 last month taking online surveys
Earn 600 in minutes
Earn money in your spare time
Get paid for your opinion!
Earn hundreds an hour taking surveys

Unfortunately in a lot of cases the answer is yes, this is to good to be true, there are opportunities to make some extra cash out there but the world of paid surveys is an absolute minefield.  I know this from experience after I started looking myself a few month ago.  Lets be honest who would not want to stay at home and make money, but the key things to remember are

  • This is "extra cash" it is not a replacement for a salary please don't give up the day job

  • It is intermittent some days I have had loads of surveys, then gone for days without any, go figure

  • Even if you receive an invite for a survey you may not be selected to complete it.  Some surveys are looking for a certain demographic, the first few questions on the survey decide whether you go forward for the full survey or not, most of the time even if you are not selected you do get some reimbursement or reward

  • You need to sign up to several providers to ensure a decent flow of surveys, don't be tempted to sign up to hundreds, quality rather than quantity?  If you want to know if a survey provider is good just look at the companies reviews on the internet.

  • Check your email daily, you snooze you lose, I use a separate email address specifically for surveys

Ok so the message here is if you are sensible you can make a few quid from taking surveys, if you want to retire early and live the life of a playboy millionaire don't even bother.

The one thing I will say which may sound obvious but believe me it is something people forget.  "if you have no opinion on things and you are just doing this to make money then don't bother".  Good quality survey providers want good quality participants.  Companies are paying good money for this service and if you are not prepared to read the surveys and give good, honest answers then quite honestly I hope you don't get invited to take any.  Bad quality survey filling will inevitably lead to fewer opportunities for those who actually want to do this properly, like me  (rant, rant, rant)

Typically in my experience there are 6 different scenarios out there.

  • Genuine Research Companies conducting online research (great, in case you had not figured it out these are the ones you want)

  • Incentive giving sites (some good, some not so good) a few things to be aware of are, these sites are not always linked to survey providers, just trying to get you to sign up to something.  Always be sure you know what the incentives are and what the minimum payout is, if a site has an incentive of 1 penny to read an email and a minimum payout of £20 pound you will require some stamina to get any payback.  Lastly always, always be sure you know who your giving your email address to and read the companies privacy statement regarding the use of your email address

  • Companies blatantly masquerading as research companies to get your email address (we all love spammers)

  • Survey Databases you have to pay for (wow you get to pay for free information, what a bargain ???, never, never, never, never, never never pay for a list of survey providers, hope thats clear enough)

  • Free Survey Databases (if you dont have to give your email address I see no problem with these, otherwise check how your details are used)

  • People having a rant and trying to run a website (I guess that's me)

OK now you have hopefully read what I had to say your prepared to put the work in and you want a list of top quality survey providers, click here
